Hannah HaHa — also known as Hannah Maljcov — the only person in the world carrying that exact name. “HaHa” arrived mostly as a survival tactic for people intimidated by “Maljcov.”Not particularly interested in being called an artist. More a collector of trades, a professional shapeshifter, a reluctant multidisciplinary practitioner. A master of versatility, depending on who you ask.Still searching for the right language to describe herself and whatever it is she does. The words remain slippery. The practice, however, does not.Born in 1996, though frequently mistaken for someone who has already lived several entire lifetimes. Raised on the NSW/VIC border on Wiradjuri Country, she eventually fled inland familiarity in 2015 in pursuit of something bigger, stranger, or simply better.After years spent across the Northern Territory and Western Australia, she naturally drifted into the social work sector — working across emergency services, youth advocacy, child protection, project management, community organising, volunteering, and events. Work that sits somewhere between care, crisis, endurance, and improvisation.Her lifelong ambition is to buy an old church and transform it into a not-for-profit caravan park that is neither truly not-for-profit nor really a caravan park — more a secular sanctuary, a community hub, a gathering place for the beautifully misplaced.Alongside this, she intends to become one of Australia’s only female cobblers, cycle around the world on an aircraft-steel bicycle, curate a hardcore ballet, and eventually introduce universal basic income to Australia as an independent MP.She oscillates daily between cow’s milk lattes and pour-over filter coffee and is currently based in so-called Melbourne.
